WHY???

WHY animated

For a long time I have wondered: Tens of thousands of years ago, what was the very first question that the emerging human intelligence asked?
I imagine it was:

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?

Huddled together under a tree and then suddenly the sky gets dark and torrents of water come pouring out of the sky…

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?

Looking up at the stars and a gigantic, flaming rock from the sky zooms down and slams into the valley blowing up everything in sight…

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?

That shining ball of fire that rises every morning and lights up the daytime grows dim as a dark disc passes over it…

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?

That mountain over there rumbles with a horrific roar and… it starts to spit fire and boiling rocks out of its top!

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?

That cave-woman over there who got fatter and fatter for the last 9 moons… SCREAMS in agony and next thing, a small crying person pops out of her!

Life must have presented an unfathomable, dizzying parade of one puzzling, confusing, inexplicable incident after another. Until the next logical question arose; a question which human beings still ask to this very day:

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?

Sometimes this question gets asked in a more philosophical way: “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Have we not all wondered about that now and then?

Well, right here, right now, I will answer that question. But my answer may strike many of you as more confusing than the question. Here goes:
